Couponing, my way

I am a self proclaimed coupon crazy...I LOVE coupons. I love cutting, organizing and using them. But most of all, I LOVE looking at the receipt after I have used them and often seeing that I have saved more than I spent. I have to start by saying that there are many ways of couponing, and this way may not work for you, but I thought I would share what works for me to give you an idea...

1) I get the Sunday paper EVERY week...sometimes I get both the Raleigh and Greenville papers, although the Raleigh paper has, on average DOUBLE the coupons...

2) I ALWAYS cut the coupons from that week either Sunday or Monday to make sure I am ready to shop when I need to...

3) I pull out the coupons that are expiring that week and have a separate pouch for them.

4) I organize the coupons in categories that make sense to me (dairy, frozen, HBA, etc.)

5) I sit down every week and compare my coupons and the sales...I rarely shop without at least 1 coupon :)

6) Finally, and maybe most importantly, I have learned the coupon policies of the local grocery stores and how to make their sales work the best for ME!!!

First post

Hi all,
First I want to share the reason behind this blog. This is my attempt at sharing some of the good deals I find around that my friends may be interested in. In no way, is this an exhaustive list and through it I hope to show people how to be better stewards of the many blessings God has given us. Saving money to me is such a high. I have often said that some people have drugs, I have coupons!!! I can't say that the feeling is the same, but at least my habit is always legal.
